30K for a coupe? I guess I need to get Pace Car written on the side of Ol' Yeller?

with the 302 and in great shape, 10-15K. yours, i'd pay about the same 15K+. it's clean, origional, but the 64 1/2 is the rarest as far as i know. at least for the classics.
That's an interesting theory, in that you think a 64 1/2 (Actually a 65) that was built maybe 2 months before mine would be double in price just because of originality. Mine is original. It was built in the same year. But yet, it is a 65 because it was built after August 17th. However, I guess what you are saying is that a 65 with a 260 or D code 289 or 170 I6 is more original than my C code 289. OK......I can see that.

Take a look at the top right hand side of the main forum, and you will see the research I did regarding the 64 1/2. You will see that my original 65 has differences such as the original Mustang engines being a 170, a D code 289 and a K code 289 before August 17th, 1964. My car has a build date of October. A few months after the demise of the 64 1/2 models, and I have a C code 289.

well, by origional, i meant, the motor origionally installed at the factory. but yeah, having the info you provided, the engine codes to match the 64 1/2's would, imo, make them rare. maybe it's just me, but that's my .02 cents
Well, I can tell you that a May, 1964 build date with a D code 289 and generator will not sell for the price you quoted. Even if it is in pristine condition, unless it is a convertible or a K code shelby. Even those are selling in the 20K range or less.

you should have just gone out, foung one, cleaned it up and made a huge profit off my n00b tusch!
the 65 with alt are a much more refined car over the gen charged cars i could see buying a clean pace car for about 20000.00$ but it would have to be a good car showing minimal wear and the original engine etc? but as said before i would probably just buy another fastback for that kinda money
