fan cluch and spacers
OK so i have my new fan, fan clutch (my radiator is coming mon. ) i am so confused on how o put this together dose the clutch go between the radiator and the fan and the spacers go between the fan and the water pump. also when i install my radiator and my fan i will need to buy spacers how do i measure with the clutch in the way if the fan is supposed to be 1 to 2 in anyway???? please help i'm so confused [:@][:@][:@][:@][&:]
wait til you have everything in your hands, rad, clutch fan and spacers. install just the fan and CAREFULLY place the radiator where it's supposed to sit. don't bother installing it as you will take it out in a minute regardless. note by eye how much space you have between the fan and the rad. you should have enough to install the spacer. that step just described was to save you from potentially scraping up your radiator. now, remove the fan, install the spacer AND the fan and once again CAREFULLY lower the radiator into place. you should have at least 1-2 inches of clearance.
now, if you have purchased a flex fan, take it back. those are the noisiest POS's ever concieved! i had one in my 83 s-10 blaser after i made the stock plastic one EXPLODE while racing and winding gears WAY out. my truck sounded like a helicopter! bad bad idea!

One of the keys is in the Mustang Monthly Tech articles. The fan blades should be extended half out and half in
of the shroud. Go through the process described above. BUT. Make sure you space it to meet the half in and out.
I had an overheating problem with my 68 Cougar. Moved the fan, problem solved.

shroud? what's that?
LOL! well, in the case of my blazer, it exploded when the fan exploded. kinda violent, it dented my hood and poked 4 holes in my rad and actually hit the hood with such force as to pop it out of the latch and send pieces of the fan and shroud onto other peoples cars and across the street into the parking lot.
but back to what i was saying. i forgot about the shroud as out of all of my cars, my buick is the only one with one left on and it had electric fans. yeah, half in half out will give you the space needed for clearance.
