Default vin problem

Im new to this but I want to ask for advice. I purchased a 1973 convertible and later noticed that the door vin matches the title but apparently someone changed the dashboard and the vin along with it. The previous owner had it for almost 30 years and told me that they had interior work done at a sloppy shop, and might have swaped the dash when they changed it from a standard interior to a deluxe interior. The dash looks replaced and the vin is from a 1971 sportsroof so I know the dash was replaced since my car is a convertible. Does anyone have advice on replacing the vin or should I just leave it? or should I take it out and throw it away. The car is a driver and willl not be a concourse restoration.

Not sure anyone here knows that much about the 73s. Wish I could help but I don't know dinky do either. Is there a VIN on the chassis anywhere?

Having more than 1 vin number on any car is a problem waiting to happen, and the first number the cops will look at is the one on the dash.

yeah, isn't there a company or a guy in general who produces vin tags? i thought i heard someone talking about him a while back.

either that or you can go all out and replace that vert with a sports roof! [8D]
