The 428CJ Mach1 came with the shaker hood from the factory, but for the 351, and the 390 equipped Machs, it was an option. Yes, the 390 was still an option engine in 69.
wrong again, there were TWO 428's, the Q code and the R code, the Q code was the non-raim air version, the R had the shaker, that was the only difference, BOTH were available in the MACH

So guess it is possible. Didn't know much back then so I couldn't tell you if it was a boss or not. A 69 GT coupe with a Boss 302 doesn't sound very likely.

doubt it, all BOSS'es were fastbacks, the 302 was G and the 429 was Z

Interesting, now I'm wondering what the deal was with that car.

Not wrong again, I have already stated for the 428 versions that the CJ-R was the one with the shaker hood.

ok, so you contradicted yourself? Above, you state that ALL 428 MACH's had a shaker, yet I know that there were Q-Code MACH's. All 428's that went into Ford Mustangs were CJ's, and the 390 did not have the option

This is really getting to being a moot point. I stated the CJ-R codes were the ones that came with the Shaker. Meaning they were the ones that came from the factory with the shaker hood. What's the matter, can't you read my mind? You could also get the shaker hood as an option with 351 and the 390. My statement about the CJ coming with the shaker hood meant that I was referring to the CJ-R. I did not use the word ALL. I am in agreement with you. No argument. Let's move on to answering the original question.

Oh yeah, the dash VIN thing. My question is, when they started doing the dash VIN in 68 did they stamp it any where else that could identify the original VIN on the car?
