Default Help....Just bout a 67' Coupe

Just bout a 1967 Coupe, has a 289 with 302 heads (supposedly), 3 Speed manuel Transmission. the car has been sitting in a "backyard" for about 11 years, just pushed it up on the trailer and havnt started anything on it yet. the engine isnt locked up, but where do i start? also is it possible to get keys cut at the dealer with a vin #?

Do you have any pics? Is there a lot of rust? Are you planning a restomod or a restoration? I think the best approach is to just strip the entire car down in most cases if you're looking for a really clean build.

rebuild the carb . replace the fuel pump. change the fluids. replace the battery. pull the plugs and squirt some oil in the cylinders

check the brakes before you drive it.

you need a locksmith for the keys. how much did you pay? is there alot of rust being that it has been outside for 11 years?

yeah, a full out resto is an excellent idea for a car that has been sitting for that long. pull everything, strip the interior. more than likely you will find a bit of rust damage to the floor pans. you should replace them. also strip the paint and see if anything has been done previously/is hiding. and as grocery getter said, check the brakes before anything. than when you go t to put it back together, start with suspension, than brakes than motor/trans/drive line, than interior. what good is an awesome **** interior if you can't controll the car?
