Default I finished my torque box!

Well, after several nights after work and one weekend I finally finished. It is not exactly like a factory box because I built it myself. Maybe that's why it took so long. What do you think? Now I have another one to do!![:@]

Same old story. ´68 Mustang and torque boxes are rusted away. You have done nice work and that part is dirty job to do right. Seen it, been there and done it few months ago [:'(]

1. Begining
2. Repairing
3. And repairing
4. Done

very nice KTM. I'm hoping the driver's side will be easier. I'm sure it will since I already have one under my belt. I will be ordering that one from one of the mustang houses. I've been doing everything on the rocky ground in my driveway. That part sucks! I was laying on the ground fitting, welding, and getting sand in every oriface on my body all day yesterday and boy do I feel it! Getting old sucks[8D]

Yesterday I tore into the other box. It is hosed too. I will be working on it this weekend. I will try and replicate the driver's side as close to factory as I can. I got some heavy guage sheet metal from work today. After this it will be the passenger side rear frame rail. I need to clean up the driver's side that had been replaced. It has horrible welds. I also found out today that I was welding with 100% argon. I guess you use 100% with aluminum. I got the right bottle and should do much better welding tomorrow.

I guess efficiency comes with practice. I was able to knock out the driver's side torque box in 10 hours today. It is exactly the same as factory(except the welds).
