Default help

i have a 302 in my 66 and i burn through a lot of oil like a quart a week
i think it might have seen better days and it will need a rebuild soon
but my dad says no old cars just burn more oil
when i get on the gas or when it starts up grey smoke will come out
my exhaust like its loaded up with oil
what should i do
i am buyin a 302 block for extra which might be a boss or not 150 sounds kinda shady for a boss
oh yeah i think i might have a short somewhere cause my altanator is not recharging my battery
i changed it and tested the battery they said both are good that is the only thing i can think that would make sense right
and oh yeah do any of you guys have a cowl cover that does nothing but let water in the interior
when it rains and the body of this thing is not in picture perfect condition either
so did i screw my self by buyin a project for daily driver or are all these things easily fixable without losin my ride to work and back
