Default Weiand stealth Intake

Ok, I finally go to taking my intake off on the 289, now I'm just test fitting everything before sealing it up! When I placed the intake "WEIAND Stealth" on the motor along with the stock Ford one inch spacer and the Autolite 4100 carb and the Chrome repro style air cleaner on, it looks like its sitting higher than my hood! Do I really need this extra one inch spacer?
I was thinking of getting a 1/2 spacer, but I cant find one with the PCV nipple on it! Any other ideas on what I should do next.

I don't believe phenolic (or other spacer manufacturers) makes a 1/2" spacer with the PCV nipple. Of course, the stock spacer does have the nipple, but it is 1". Have you researched the various years motor mounts? I know the 65 and 66 were different heights. You need the spacer for a few reasons. One is to prevent vapor lock, and the other is that it enhances low torque and throttle response. I suppose if push comes to shove, you may have to invest in a different hood like the cowl or shaker hood.

You could just get a heat insulating gasket instead of a spacer. They're about 3/8" high. I know Edelbrock makes one, as do probably Moroso and Mr. Gasket.

Or this.

I can get a .500 or .325 size spacer but like you said its not going to have the nipple for the PCV valve! How else can I set up the PCV valve? Can I use one of the open holes on the intake for the PCV valve?

Loose the spacer and run the PCV into one of the many holes in the back of the manilfold.

Yep there should be more places to attach the vacuum lines. Look around and see what you can use.

It's not a vacuum port he is looking for, it's a PCV port other than on the spacer. However, I guess any line into the intake manifold will pull the PCV. Yeah, I know, same thing. The spacer is necessary as I have already explained why so that doesn't solve his height problem, except now he can use a phenolic 1/2 inch spacer instead of the 1 inch. Will 1/2 inch really make the difference between clearance and not clearing on this set up?

i have the weiand stealth on my 67 289 -306. i had the holley 570 avenger with a 4 inch drop base k&n air filter. i had about 1 inch to spare. the avenger has the pvc port in the rear. i don't know what else you have done to beef up the motor but the 570 was way too small for my set up. currently i have the holley 4777 with the pvc in the rear - it works fine. a new carb might be cheaper than a hood - less trouble also.

I was hoping someone would come on here to give advice about a carb with the PCV intake nipple actually on the carb, and the carb will actually work. You stilll need the spacer though.
