I dont get information from the internet. it's not like im just making this stuff up to get people to buy a product. I talk to ACTUAL engine builders to get good facts, not people online who claim to know all. I'm just trying to give good information and opinions without telling people they dont know what they're talking about.

any engine builder that told you those motorsport heads are the best bolt on head and the twisted wedges are overhyped is an engine builder I would avoid at all costs. it's simply untrue and has been shown to be untrue six ways to sunday. The hard numbers on and off the track dont lie.

ORIGINAL: myshifter So unless someone has real world experience using the above mentioned heads, and im not talking about magazine/internet reading experience their opinions are 100% useless. Just from your opinion of the best bolt on head leaves me to believe you havent had the experience needed to make such comments. Good Day

Man I couldn't agree more!! You said it right on. The Trick Flow wedge heads have been proven on the race track time and time again for years and years now. Run from any engine builder that says they are hype. That is just bs.

I did some research on the head thing. I was going either AFR or twisted wedge when I found a guy that gave me a great deal on the wedge head. I'm running those now and I'm glad I did. The power is unbelievable! My vote goes for Trick flow. My last point is this, if you are going to spend the money on heads, why not go with aluminum and get the added benefit of running a much lighter head.

I had a set of out of the box TFS heads on my 302 and loved 'em. Now looking for a set of Tfs heads for my 418. As far as a "direct fit" head the tfs heads on my 302 where exactly that, the only thing I can remember having to do different than with the factory heads that came off the car was get different pushrods and a different style head bolt. The factory pushrods are junk anyhow and need replaced and you should use new head bolts when installing a new set of heads anyhow. If you can't tell the wedge heads get my vote.

LOL thumpin! But since this was brought up, I will add my opinion. I would NEVER bolt a AFR head onto one of my engines unless I first heli coiled every thread and replaced the valve components, period! I have seen too manu AFR threads pulled out. TFS heli coils all of their threads and the TFS street heads can be installed using stock flat top pistons for those wanting to upgrade their stocker engines. TFSFTW!
