Why am I stalling out?
I realize there could be 1000 reasons for this, but could you maybe narrow it down to the top 5 so I can give my body shop a good guide to go on?
1. Drove the car around then stopped at a store. It wasn't a very hot day and the car wasn't overheating. Was inside maybe 10 minutes. Came out, started the car, drove about 50 feet and stopped for traffic, put my foot on the gas and it stalled. I started it back up right away and all was fine.
2. 2 days later I drove it about 8 minutes, stopped to pull into a parking place, and when I gave it gas, it stalled again. Started up right away.
I notice that when I give it gas at times, it seems like it's going to stall out, but I *think* that happens when I give it a bit more than a gentle push on the gas pedal. If I gently touch it and go very slowly, it won't stall out.
Possible causes?

if it's related at all to the manner in which you press the gas pedal it'll probably need a carb adjustment. 'specially if it starts right up with no problems after it does it.
once again i'm sory Pammie, but i'm starting to think your resto shop wasn't up to par. i have noticed quite a few complaints and, maybe it's just me, but it seems to be more than the few usual bugs from a resto.

They have a national reputation and have been featured in Mustang magazines, so I have to think they know what they were doing.
Are you saying a carb adjustment, or any other type of adjustment after a restoration isn't normal? They drove it 30 miles after it was done, not enough time to see what had to be adjusted, right? So once I broke it in by driving it a few hundred miles things happen?
They didn't rebuild the carb, so I can't blame them if this is the issue.

no, i'm sorry i thought you had already had that done. my fault. and i also figured they had done the carb rebuild too.

Everyone I've talked to locally with Mustangs says what I'm going through is normal, that things need to be adjusted once everything begins to get broken in, and some tell me it will never end. Those are the ones who I kick in the shins.
*just kidding*

No, the only thing was the choke was adjusted as it was idling kind of high. They sent out the engine, carb, tranny and rear end to be rebuilt -- they reassembled all of it only.
