Default TUNE UP HELP

I tuned 1966 289 up today plugs, wires, fuel filter, rotor, distributor cap, points. When i finished the car ran fine for a few minutes then died. The owner said it had been stalling after being driven for awhile. What could it be. Coil?

Ask him when was the last time he had fresh gas in it. Sounds like a fuel related problem. so check the filters and whether or not the fuel pump is pumping properly, then move on to the carb.

If its the coil, you will be getting a weak orange spark, rather than a strong blue one.

If the coil is weak heat may cause it to stop working.

Pull the boot off the top of the coil and place a metal object over the spot where the boot fits and have some one watch and see if spark jumps to the grounded piece of metal. If yes then probably not coil.

Did you use a clear fuel filter can you see fuel in it?

If you remove the fuel line from the carb and place it in a cup and crank it about 3 sec does it fill most of the cup? Does fuel come out of it at all?
