Hi all.
Wondering if I could get some assistance in decoding a tag on a 69 Mach? Some of it's got me confused, so here it is.
Thanks.

Well my buck tag also reads 3S and mine came with an FMX so I don't believe you can assume it was built with the manual transmission. I believe that HP stands for handling package. Sounds like a great car. If the link below isn't in the FAQ section it should be.

It did come with a FMX though, but thanks to a wrecked coupe its getting a top loader transfusion. One more question though, didn't a Mach 1 come with the "good" suspension pieces? sway bars and such? If so why and what was the GT package? and why the handling package?
I guess by now you may be able to guess I'm new to mustangs, loyal ford fan though. I've done restoration and mods to the old broncos and trucks so I figured why not a mustang.
I don't know exactly what the upgrades were from a base fastback if any when it came to ordering the Mach. I do know that the GT and HP codes were standard on the Mach's. The Mach came with all the GT equipment offered in 69. Gt's could be ordered in any body style and had a different paint scheme. Mach's only came as a fastback with it's own special paint scheme.
