The repair in question would be putting a thread insert into an aluminum manifold. But like you said, in our application it really isn't an issue. Think about spark plugs in an aluminum head, or a stainless throttle shaft in an aluminum carb body, cast iron piston rings on cast aluminum pistons. We are constantly putting disimilar metals together. Lets face it, it's fun
There are some great articles on electrolysis, especially in the marine trade journals. Very interesting reading.
