67 Coupe / Removing Rocker Molding?

Yes, on the 67 there are 6 or 7 plastic clips riveted in place with aluminum rivets. If you're going to repaint, or just leave the trimpiece off, they will leave little tiny holes, but it won't hurt anything. It's easy enougn to pop rivet new plastic retainers on when you're ready to put the metal piece back on. By the way, it's MUCH easier to buff that aluminum trim piece to a mirror finish when it's up where you can work on it without worrying about slipping off and messing up a good paint job! I've had mine off for 10 years, and don't plan on putting it back on till I get the NEXT paint job "just right!!"[8D]

yeah took mine off last night, they pry off, no bolts involved at all. i have a 68.

i wanna take off the clips becuase im going to be repainting soon and also just dont want them.....i want the GT stripe deal.......whats the best way to get the rivets off??

A drill and a bit about the same size as the rivet...not the head of the rivet but the rivet itself.

A 68 should have the bolts at each end.

Yeah thats wierd. All the 68's I've dealt with though had them and the new I bought came with them.
