Default Wiring supply question

I am trying to help out a friend of mine who in the process of restoring a 69 coupe. He has received a few catalogs from some of the aftermarket suppliers, but was not able to find anyone offering " Complete " replacement, or repro wiring harnesses.

We found rear, and engine harnesses, but nothing in the way of an underdash harness for a 69 coupe. Should I assume that we are not looking in the right place, or are they not currently available. I would appreaciate hearing from anyone who can help out. ?

Thank's to all who will take the time to address my concernes.

Regards
Stepinwolf

That's just one of many problems you will have with a 69. I know of no source for an under the dash harness. You might try to contact painless to see if they can manufacture one for you, but it will be very expensive.

Thank you Soaring, I appreciate your input.

I seem to remember having been to a site that advertise an under dash harness from " Painless " and that is made for the 65 to 68 model year.

Did you ever hear from anyone that has tried to adapt a 68 harness to the 69 model year. ?

No I haven't, but that doesn't mean it can't be done. I would give Painless a call and see what they recommend.

I actually emailed Painless four days ago about a wiring harness for a 69 and have not heard back from them. A few of the guys at 69stang.com have used www.ezwiring.com and recommend it. I believe they used the EZ 21 (21 circuit) product.

the wiring in Mustang catalogs is concours correct, the under-dash wiring has sooooo many options that it would drive you nuts.

That's true Twister, but the problem is that the mustang catalogs don't list a 69 under dash harness, concours correct or not.

Thank's to all for your comments, and input.

I guess that I will find out soon enough if it's an easy job or not. My buddy, ( a body man at heart ) has not as yet figured out the plug in the wall thing with one of the prongs that are bigger then the other, so guess who's going to be stuck with making up the harness.

I found this site, where I am buying the wiring for our 65, he will email you back with-in a day or so. He may be able to make one for you, but it could be expensive. Check it out.
