What oil weight?

Im not sure what the PO ran in my car so i was trying to figure out what grade of oil to start running in my 289 and to stick with it, Straight 30, 10W30, ? I want to run conventional oil, not synthetic.

well in az i run 10W40 in the summer and 10W30 in the winter

well i live in west virginia, so we have pretty moderate temp. year round here.

20-50 since its summer during the winter drop it down for the colder climate

Did you know that the W does not stand for weight. It stands for Winter.

ya but that makes me want to ask what should i be using here in AZ cause its hot yr round then in winter it gets righ roung freezing in the morning i live in PHX BTW

yeah but these old school motors like something thicker in the summer even most of the 5.0 guys run 20-50

i was wondering why my oil pressuer gauge kinda dropped off this summer i thought it was cause my sender went out
