Default 289 carb spring location????

I took my carb off to do a little repainting under the hood. While removing the carb I took off two springs, one long, one short. I was interupted during this process and had to leave the project for a later date. I returned and completed the paint work, but now do not remember where the two springs go. Can anyone refresh my memory. Thanks...

Hey Tex, Not sure what year or carb you have, but on my 67 289 autolite carb the spring goes from the bend in the middle of the accelerator rod (sits right in the corner) to a small bracket attached to the rear left carb mounting stud. I only have one spring though.
Hope that helps, Good Luck.

Yeah, I only have one spring too, but mine is a 65 289 with an autolite 2100. Here is a pic if this will help.

Some people use two springs to prevent the gas pedal from getting stuck. The other spring would go the opposite way of the first spring. I dont know if that makes sense.
