66 C4 Tranny Questions
Hello All,
As most of you are aware that the shift pattern in a 66 C4 is the following:-
P
R
N
D 2-3
D 1-2-3 (Green dot)
L 1
I was wondering if you could select and hold a second gear. I have been told if I was travelling at 80km in top gear and select L that it would drop down to second and hold there til I stopped. Can anyone confirm this. Also can you modify the kick back on the tranny to go back to 2nd when hitting the gas.
Thanks in advance
Cheers
jeff

The 69 and older C4's did not have a way to manually shift into 2nd. You can replace it with a 70 or older C4 wich will allow you to manually select each gear (this is what I did in my 66).
Jeff,
To answer you question, Yes, sort of.
If running at freeway speeds and you shift into L1, it will drop into second and stay there until your speed drops below about 20mph, it will than go into first gear.
If you are going to fast, it wont drop into second.
