Default Checking for problems in a T5

Well, I bought a T5 to start my tranny swap, I am going to pick it up one day this week and the seller said it is in great workin condition but if i find something wrong with it then he will refund so of my money so i can fix it, so my questions are, what are the key components to look for in a T5 to ensure it is in good workin order, how easy is it to take w/e u need off to look at the gears, should the input and rear yoke spin freely? also it does not have a shifter, how should it look in the "box" where the shifter will go, any feedback would be greatly appreciated, once i confirm that it is in good working order, on with the parts ordering frenzy. haha i cant wait to be shiftin gears, its going to sound so much better than my 3sp auto C4 :-)

Default RE: Checking for problems in a T5

Car Craft magazine just had a pretty big and detailed article about T5 transmission swaps into our cars. I think it is the latest issue that came out, it has a blue 66 fastback on the cover. I thought it was a very good article. Might wanna check that out.
