i believe ive figured out what type of drive gear i need for my car. if ive done it right its a 17 tooth gear. im going to order it from mustangsunlimited but they have a 17 tooth gear for a 4 speed trans im lost? can anyone help me?

 

What transmission do you have?

 

c 4 cruise o matic with 2.83 gears

 

That's a fairly common toothed speedo gear for a C4. Try you friendly Ford dealer.

Not positive if it is the right toothed gear or not. Texas Mustang has the 16, 18, 19 and 20 toothed gears for a C4. Redo your math, and see if maybe one of these is the right one.

 

the 4 seed gear will not work the teeth go the wrong way. but any of the other transmitions avilible back then will work.
