alittle more ignition work
I bought a new cap, rotor and wires. I got home, and found out the wires dont fit the cap. Anyway, My question. The cap is supposedly higher performance then stock. What is really different and gives more performance? It feels heavier. I do feel alittle difference actually. Now i cant wait to get on the hipo wires.
I believe the major difference in an OEM disributor cap and, a "high performance" distributor cap is the terminals are brass instead of aluminum (At least the OEM terminals look like aluminum).
I have seen some "high performance" caps that were made out of thicker plastic(along with the brass ends) than OEM caps though. I guess that just makes em less likely to crack or able to withstand more heat. That's just a guess though.

well i used to get shocked when i grabed my old cap, so i think it was cheap, and arcing. I can tell a difference, with new Accel Wires, new hipo cap and rotor, new bosch platinum plugs, pertronix 2 with flamethrower 2 coil. with all this, and Duel exhaust, how much more power do you think i have??? It's basically a stock 289 2v.
