No, should be the same as my 67. Take the fender botls off the top and I beleive 2 on the underside and it should just lift off. Mind you, you may have to work it alittle, mine seems to need pulled out, then up.

Also, open the door and just above the hinge you will see another bolt. There are numerous small bolts bolting the valance to the fender. It is easier to take off the bumper also. Unplug the headlight and running light. You cannot remove the headlamp bucket unless you have the fender off, even then it is a b!tch. Figure at least 1/2-1 hour perside for removal. You will get dirt in your eyes when trying to get the lower bolts so wear safety glasses. Good luck.

There is a bolt in the door jamb, as mentioned, A bolt under the rear lower part of the fender, two bolds to the radiator suppor, bolts running along the tops and also, you must detach the headlight bucket from the valance and upper stone guard. Be careful removing these as the buckets are pot metal and bend and crack very easily. If the bolt hangs up, do not force it, get some penetrant on there and let it soak in good, or you will wind up havin to replace the bucket.
Good luck.

Dont mean to steal the post, but while we're on it, does anyone know what that metal piece is behind the bucket? I think it keeps mud from being slung up in there. Thats the only rusted peice on my car that I need to replace, but I left it on there...

That is your splash shield. It should have a piece of rubber fastened onto it. The other side of the rubber glues to the inside of the fender.

i think he might be asking about the secondary bucket (for lack of a better name) that is an integral part of the fender. This ads suppot yo the fender by providing a mounting point to the radiator support and also ads structural integrity to the fender. It soes also serve to keep gunk out of the headlicht bucket. The splach shield mount to this part.
