Default VIN Help!! Missing color code???

I just recieved my 66 mustang from california yesterday. I decoded the VIN and all the stuff, but as I was taking down the number, there is no color code!! it is left blank, i have no idea what this means, i think my dad does, but what matters is, we cannot figure out what the hell the color is. It is sort of a metallic green. as far as everything else, it seems to be numbers matching, i havent had a chance to pull open the rear end, but haha seems all good, that going away anyway. I will either paint the car this color, or a 2001 acura blue pearl that i saw a fastback painted in car craft, it looked pretty cool. This mustang we got has a lot of rare options that we weren't expecting, it's pretty cool and it will end up bein a great car.

thanx, i kno it is a special paint color, i just want to figure out what it is, i ean would the car still be numbers matching if i painted it a different color, since there was virtually no color, or what? i'm quite confused, I know it hasn't beeen tampered with, every single thing on the car is original, up to the distributor cap and battery, absolutely everything, it hasnt been run in 18 years. i looked at all the various color on the internet and stuff, and i couldnt find anything. Also, i know for a fact that it hasnt been repainted, on the way from the car shippers delivery point we took it to a paint shop to get evaluated, he said it has never been repainted, and also that it is an extremely straight car and will come out wonderfully, which we knew. I just want to solve this little mystery, see what the color looks like when newly painted, and then maybe make my decision between the acura nsx color or this.

Hhahaaaa, I have been on he phone with 8 different people, turns out, my new mustang is a one of a kind special order paintjob. I will have to take it to a ppg place to find out the exact color, i knew it was not timberland green. I am going t have it registered with the horse of a different color registrar. quite a lucky find...

I'm thinking it is a High country special too. If you strip the fender look for three little holes to mount the emblem.

It is not a High Country Special. Although the '66 High Country Specials had blank color codes like this car, they were all destined for the Denver DSO (51) and had a scheduled build date of 15G (July 15, 1966). This car has a 72 DSO followed by a sequence number (3085), so it was a special order for the San Jose DSO.

I checked the Lincoln and Mercury paints on colorlibrary.com, but didn't find a decent match. It looks like a '65 color called Dynasty Green. Without a source of the original color like a build sheet or the original invoice, you'll have to computer match a protected surface.

Dynasty Green

my one, I do not think it is dynasty green, to me, it is looking like a one-off color. I looked through all the ford truck books of the era too. I do have a protected area inside the car. Inside and around the trunk is absolutely pristine. I just want to know, I think my car is a 1 out of 1 paintjob, I have never seen anything like it.

here is the most accurate area of color, although the picture isn't very accurate, i took it in a dark garage. look at the pic and then think of the color as slightly darker, slightly more lime green, and quite metallic. the color obivously shifts a little in th lights, as it looks silver when it is directly in the flash.
