Default Suspension ?s

So I picked up this months Mustang Monthly and sat down to look at it. I like to browse the vendor ads and see what kinda prices different places are offering. On page 10-11 they have Mustangs Plus with some suspension parts that caught my eye. Now as far as I know everything on my car is stock except the carb and exhaust. Now assuming that the suspension is stock as well, what improvements would I see from getting the "performance leaf spring kit" or something similar?

I have only installed the rear suspension portion of the Grab a Trac kit. I noticed a huge difference right away, it was way tighter and felt much nicer. I am currently installing the front suspension, about 3/4 of the way done, but I think I just threw my back out

Usually a performance leaf spring is nothing more than a 4 1/2 or 5 leaf rear leaf spring. It very simply adds more stiffness to the rear. However, without adding other rear end controls such as a Watts suspension, you are are just not going to get any more performance enhancements from your leaf springs.

Unless you are replacing enormously old leaf springs, shackels, bushings, and shocks in the rear

So would htis be a recommended upgrade to do? Im learning as I go and writing all this stuff down for future refs.

Also I forgot to add, how can I tell if my car has been "shelby dropped" or not? Im interested in doing this also and I think I saw something in the magazine about how its done.

I would install sway bars, and a monte carlo bar. Take a look at your upper control arms. if you see some more holes around where they bolt too, you know the shelby drop has been done. It probably hasn't been done to your car.
