Default Fuel injection vs. carb

This has nothing to do with my Mustang, but I need some advice.

If you had an older car and needed an engine ... if you had a choice between something like a small block Chevy engine with a carb, or something modern with fuel injection, which would you go with? I asked the difference in price and was told it's minimal .... just was told the fuel injection would be "cooler" and different and that as soon as you put the key in the engine, it would start.

You guys are very knowledgeable on engines. So tell me -- honestly -- which would you go with, and what are the pros and cons?

To avoid arguments, if you'd prefer to PM me, that's fine. I just need advice and opinions from guys who know engines.

What are you looking to do?

FI is gererally more efficient and produces less smog. It's also easier to add a forced induction system to for even more power.

Both are fairly easy to work on.

Both can be upgraded with ease so long as you know what you're doing.

Oh and FI tends to be more reliable in the long run.
