Ive recently recieved the 3.3L 200cin straight 6 out of a 68 Mustang from a friend who just dropped a 302 in it, the problem is, it came with an automatic, and I refuse to drive anything but manual, its going to be going into an open wheel roadster Im working on, and all the 68 manuals Ive been finding are 3 speeds, is there a 5 speed from this year I dont know about? Or, will a newer 5 speed fit on this engine. Thanks

 

I think you could bolt up a T5 from a fox body stang. There will probably be some modifications needed though.

 

ScottH is the expert on this and he has an article on the mod's necessary to hook a T5 to the 200 I6. Check the FAQs or contact him. It's a very cool idea.

 

drop a v8 in while your at it.

 

I am curious to see an open wheel roadster with an I200 in it. The only open wheel roadsters I have ever seen have had v8's in them .
