Door removal?
Im thinking of removing my doors so I can paint the area around the hinges and inspect for rust, although I dont think there is any. How heavy do you think a full door is, should i do this myself?
If your front fenders are off, you can leave the door closed and remove the hinge bolts going into the body, and then lift the door off alone. It is fairly heavy (and bulky), I would guess 70 pounds. If the front fenders are on, the door needs to be opened to remove it and that would be much easier with another person.
Fenders are off. I was working on the front end and I'm continueing backward, so thats why im considering removing the doors. It looked like all I had to do was remove the 6 hinge bolts, is that right? Will there be any problems with it lining up right again, or should it be the same? Heres a pic...

Most of the front was good etching primer, you can see where I had to stop at the doors..

Get somebody to help you for about 5 minutes. Take the hinge bolts out and you are done with taking the doors off. You will have to spend some time aligning it after you put the doors back on, so do that before you put the fenders on.
