Default Does Scott Drake ever try to apply their stuff???

Hi all!
I got some new 289 emblems and they do not match the holes in the fender! I had to grind about half of the pin off for them to fit. Scott Drake needs some better quality control!!!! No wonder my MUSTANG script did not fit the template I got from NPD for GT lettering. Now I think it is the Scott Drake stuff and not the template. Really glad I did not drill into my fender for the script!!! It would be really off!! I think I will cut off the pins and use the 3M trim tape to put them on.
Walt

AHHHHH...that's why I went on Ebay and found new in box FOMOCO emblems for my 67 convertible. I had the funny feeling some of the aftermarkets wouldn't fit right. I paid around $80 for the 289 running horse logos, new in the original box, stamped FOMOCO on the back. They're literally good as new. I have bought some chrome pieces from aftermarkets (some Scott Drake). I have an aftermarket "concourse repro" horn ring on my steering wheel that vibrates and rattles like hell, drives me nuts cuz it just doesn't fit right. I have to keep pressure on it when I drive so that it won't vibrate. My convertible header bar is a bit off as well. I'm gonna slowly replace my aftermarkets with FOMOCOs as I find them and they are in good shape and reasonably priced...I replaced all of my dash panel inserts with repros as well cuz the FOMOCOs would have cost me a grand and I think I paid 110 bucks for the repros and I have to admit they are fine, I will never replace those, its just plastic and exact replica when side by side with the originals.

His stuff is a hit or a miss, I've had problems with fitting myself! NOS is the way to go, if you have the money!

Scott Drake buys aftermarket parts made by other companies and just puts his name on it. For instance, I bought a Scott Drake "custom fit" electric radiator fan/shroud combo. Scott Drake gets these from HotRodAir who in turn gets them from Derale, the real manufacturer.
