Default Replacing Speedometer Cable

Looks like the reason my speedo wasn't working is the cable is GONE lol


Seems like there are a lot to choose from, and I remember hearing something about different gears...I have no idea what the car originally had in it, but now it has a 351 w/ unknown tranny. What's the easiest way to figure out what I need?

What's the best way to ID the tranny? I crawled under there but didnt see any identifying marks....
