Default worst fear

hey fellas,

now that I own my dream car, i want it to stay that way. I have not even driven it yet, and I am scared that someone will steal my car, i have a 1968 mustang coupe and I know that our mustangs are targeted in 2 ways, some low life is jelous that you have a nice car and he does not so he keys your car, then there the worse thing that could happen, someone likes your car to much and steals it. i dont want this to ever happen. is a unstealable car possible? if so, what are some of the measures that I can take to stop thugs from stealing my car?

i have thought of a couple things i could do.

1. a fuel shut off valve
2. electrical shut off switch hidden somewhere in the car
3. low jack
4. GPS
5. basic car alarm

anything else anyone can think of would be great, i really want my car to be UN-STEALABLE. any help would be great

i have been thinking of some sort of disable switch, and I am getting ready to rebuild my fuel system so the timing is good. have you found anything prefab? congrats on your pony.

Car alarm, steering wheel club, fuel pump cutoff, and one of these:

If they can get past all that they can have it - I'll get an insurance check and buy another...

classic car insurance and don't park it next to that half primered 93 toyota corolla when you go to get your groceries. My pops has low jack in his Lightning, I've heard their recovery rate is pretty good, but I dunno it seems like overkill to me.

Well... first you have to realize that nothing is "un-stealable" and if a smart enough thief really wants you car he's going to get it. With that said, here's what I've done:

1. Had a Ravelco kill switch installed. ( http://www.ravelco.com/ )
2. Cell phone GPS unit. ( http://www.accutracking.com/ )
3. Always lock the doors and take the keys.
4. Use a club-like lock.

I'd have gone with a Lojack as well but I just can't see spending over $900 on a simple radio beacon that I can't even use... but have to rely on the local police to hopefully have the time to chase after my stolen car.

Wouldnt it be possible to rig a normal toggle switch to the ignition and mount it under the dash? U could flip it open when you leave your car and it would run, and then flip it shut when you wanna drive it?

I dont know, sounded smart to me
