just thowing this out there my **** twists not pulls. i have 2 speeds and i turn it for differnt speeds...
Volcom66, the wiper switch is turned to activate the wipers, one detent for some (myself included), or two detents for the two different speeds. However, you PULL OUT on the wiper **** to activate the washer motor. This can be done at either speed in the 2-speed wiper system.

As for my engine being a 6-cylinder or a TWO cylinder, please see below for an enlarged picture of my finished 289 engine.

It's about time you posted pics of your V8. It sounds as if you already know the answers for your questions.

Default RE: Help with 66' Wiper/washer system!

Last night I installed the new wiper switch in the dash, and ran the wire through the firewall to the washer motor. I need one last bit of help though. Can anyone describe to me what type of screws are used to secure the washer motor to the drivers inner fender? I have the single-speed wiper system with a single wire going to the washer motor, not two wires as in the 2-speed wiper system. Are they phillips screws?, 6-sided screws? Are they black or silver? Any help greatly appreciated as I'm running to the hardwear store at lunch to pick up what I need. Finally the Stang will have a functional washer system again after who knows how long having a 65' switch and the wrong washer motor without any wiring in between!!! Maybe it was an IR system or wireless?! Lol

Thanks so much,

Tom

Tom,

Great detective work and solves my problem as i have no washer system, on my car and was going to put one in eventually but it seems like as i have a 65 that it may not have had it in the first place!!!

What holds the washer motor on the inner fender looks like a small machine screw/bolt. Here is as pic of mine.

Darn, that's what I thought. I have ONE screw that looks like yours, 5/16 hex head with an embossed "D" in the middle. I'll have to start scrounging for two more...

Thanks SOARING, "King of the Stang..."
