Put the stang under a cover and buy a cheap beater. Youll have it for another day...

What he said. It's not like you have kids, mortgage and tons of bills stacking up. Put it a way for a while. You will thank us later.

buy a cheap honda or toyota beater, why spend 10k on a car if you are worried about gas mileage, and if you are really bothered put a sticker on say my other cars a mustang honest!!!

My college car is a $900 Geo Prizm. 35mpg with a/c! I drive that when the stang is out of commission. Or go to a police auction and buy a really cheap car. My brother went to one and got his college car for $40. 1980 something VW Fox.

I agree that you should go with a cheap car that will get you good gas mileage. It also seems that you are being a little too picky. Your daily driver does not have to be a V8 and it certainly does not have to cost you 10K. I'm sure everybody on this forum has had to drive a beater at one point or another in their life and I'm sure some still have them, like me. I bought a metro in high school and still have it. And you especially need a beater to drive to college. I would never chance parking a classic in a college parking lot!

Keep the stang. No matter what else you do keep that thing. And the Imp. Trust me on that okay? My dad and ll of his friends lament all the old cars they scrapped or sold or wrecked and wish they had them.

Back when gas was $1.30 a gallon, 95-04 that is, my daily driver for years was a 455 powered 70 GTO. It was a rollin work in progress and often the only thing I had running. I picked up a 76 short box by trading an engine for it and it was full of rust but it ran. It took some pressure off the GTO and allowed me to get some work done on it.

I changed jobs, actually went back to the Air Force, and could only take one vehicle with me. I took he GTO. Having no place to work on it to the extent it needed I had to get another car. I picked up a VW GTi, no it wasnt a V8 and it wasnt purdy or glamourous, but it ran and wasnt a slug. Best part was it was reliable and cheap. I ended up with $300 in it.

Its just a beater, you can always come home from work and drive the stang, or get down and dirty and fix all the stuff wrong with it. You cant do major repairs when its your only ride to work, because you cant have it torn down for days at a time. So it gets limped around and only gets worse and costs you more money.

My current beater is a $200 97 Dodge Intrepid, it rusts from the snow and my hotrods dont.

Buy a beater, not another hot rod.. take it from an old guy who has tried to do both..

look at this logically. If you buy a new mustang and pay 200-250 a month You only make $300 a month so that is only $50 to $100 in mods a month. That will set you back even more.

Im thinking about keeping the stang, and buying a newer stang. This is how i see it, If i can keep payments at 200-225, i can deal with that. I make $300 a month at my current job, but i make 70-80 dollars in tips a month. Then hopefully, i'll get a job at advance auto parts, and start making around 490-500 a month. So that leaves me with $275-290 a month to work with. Thats what i make now. then ill try and pay off the new car quicker. This will also save me money, with having to buy oil, other little parts, and gas. A newe GT mustang, even though faster, still gets better gas mileage then i get. I would like to get a little down payent though. Anyone need some valve covers, air cleaners, or a c4 tranny? lol.
