no over flow tank for me. I just recently detailed my engine bay as well one thing i think looks cool and adds teh stock engine bay feel are he stickers that ehy all have like i have this silver sticker on the right shock tower one for powersteering pump etc. also were u have that over flow tank i put on the an original windshield washer res. looks kinda funny having a black bag and its not functional but looks good to those who know about these cars. Looks amazing tho Glen, Ive always loved the black/gold engine, What cars came with those colors

Hello

Not strictly a reply to Soaring but I felt like putting my 2 cents in

I have alot of respect for the people that try to restore a car back to its original state.
I allso have the same amount of respect for the people wanting Elanor or a drag race mustang.

I have no other purpose with my car then to mess about with it, get it to go fast in a straight line aswell as hopefully make it able to turn a few corners.
I have no intention of building a show car or restoring it 100% to original.

I will try to make it look as good as possible TO ME.

Taste and opinions are the right of any free man.

Erik

Ford had these bag like windshield washer fluid things that may be usable as a coolant overflow. I'm lucky enough with my '71 to have room behind the driver's side headlight for a container. Sorry, no pics as I haven't restored that aspect of my engine bay yet. Soaring, let me know when you feel like another engine bay.

Looks good to me. I have a plastic overflow as well but it doesn't stand out as much and its thinner. I'll snap a pic and post it.
But really the tank isn't that bad. I don't think painting it black would help.

looks good! a couple of things that stick out that would be easy to change.

hose clamps
correct radiator cap
correct belt/s
paint the top of your coil yellow
air cleaner nut should not be painted black
get rid of that overflow tank. as you would say, "they didn't need it back then, they don't need it now"

I was thinking a windshielf washer bad MIGHT work. I am not 100% sure it would hold up to the heat, but if it would you could use one of those.

Lookin good Soaring! I agree with 66ckurt here, I think the original decals really add a nice touch now that you've cleaned up the paint it would help really finish off the engine bay (plus you may be able to use the stickers to hide some straggling holes or other blemishes).

Great job.

I thought that you were going to put in the retrofit AC?
