FULL COWL REPLACEMENT

HAS ANYONE REPLACED BOTH COWL PIECES(upper and lower). DO YOU SPOT WELD THE UPPER TO THE LOWER FIRST AT THE TOP(NEAR THE WINDSHIELD) OR DO YOU NOT WORRY ABOUT IT?
