1965 stang 289 problems

my 289 has worn piston rings and is a tired engine should i take my engine to Jasper ( http://www.jasperengines.com/ ) or should i buy a brand new crate engine???? i have flowmaster exhuast and hooker headers and a 4 barrel holley on the 65'. need advice not sure wut the hell to do.

You could get a plain overhaul for around 2K or less. If you do everything but the head work, you could get by for a whole lot less. Now, if you are wanting to make a hotrod out of it, it will cost you a bundle. Remember, horsepower costs money, and lots of it. So, decide what you want your engine to do when it's all said and done, then go that direction.
