Hello all,
I am new to this forum. It can be done. It is being done right now in my shop.
Ask any questions about the conversion you want except why. The answer to that is, I can
and I wanted to.

I can't understand this logic...sure the fastbacks are super cool & sporty...but the coupes IMO have more of a classy look to them. Save the coupe for someone who will make it there own.....buy a fastback if you want one it's not as hard to find them as people act...at least not here, there are two nice ones in the local autotrader for 15KCDN.

Very logical, Captain. Hey, somebody hadda say it!

I say if you can do it, more power to you. I'm happy with my 72 coupe, but sure, I like the 65-70 fastbacks better. But if I were to try this myself the result would probably be rather akin to that orange uglymobile.

Well i like the early mustangs only, i even don't like 67-68's and don't get me started on 69 and early 70's, no offence to the guys with them but not my cup of tea. I really like the fastbacks, but in the netherlands these were out of my price range....by about double, so i thought of may be converting my coupe then came to the point why bother, cost wise it is not worth it as you have just a bastard car and if i remember the rear glass is not available and what does it add to the car, handling, nope, speed, nope, stopping power, nope, comfort, nope, chick pulling, not really so don't do it!!!

Keep the coupe, drive and enjoy it and buy a "real fastback" in the future.

I have to say that I'm glad someone asked this question....I have been searching for a project car myself for some time, but fastbacks are hard to come by around here. My only option would be to do this exact same thing.

And if you can do it, go on and do it. More power to you if you can actually pull it off without it looking terrible.
