determining gears
First of all, the rear end information is in your VIN, secondly, you should have a metal tag on your rear end with numbers on it, and thirdly, if you dont have either of those jack up the car, mark a line on the rear tire it does not matter which side, then make a mark on the driveshaft, rotate the tire one full turn while counting how many times the driveshaft goes around. Yours will probably turn about 3 times, making your rear either a 2.80 or 3.0.

This will work if you have a posi rearend but if it is not a posi you need to jack up only one wheel leaving the other on the ground (you could also jack up both wheels and have someone hold one of them) then follow the same procedure except when you get the number of rotations of the driveshaft you then multiply by 2.
