Dumbest Mustang Question Thread

RE: Dumbest Mustang Question Thread
"What kind of engine does it have?" (I refrained from saying 'one that goes vroom vroom') I tell him 200 ci. He looks confused, looks at the car, then asked "how many horsepower?" so I tell him 120. "Oh, it's not a muscle car".
Several times I've been asked "Is that a Mustang".
Then there was the guy who asked about my car and told me a long story about his son buying a 1964 Firebird and how he had it for 30 years ...

RE: Dumbest Mustang Question Thread
Had the 67 coupe inspected last year by a relatively young guy. It passed inspection but the inspector told me afterwards that I needed to check out the electrical system because "every time I put on the emergency brake the wipers came on." My son had to show him the difference between the emergency hand brake and the windshield washer pedal...live and learn!!!

RE: Dumbest Mustang Question Thread
Oh yeah, when I first got the car back (from restoration) I'd been told to use a specific brand of gas as the octane was a little higher (I've since learned it doesn't matter).
So, I pull in and the kid says "where does the gas go?". Next 2 times I go in, the kids ask "does the gas go in the back?"
I always see classics there, including 3 Shelbys, but they are always at the self-serve pump and I go to the full-serve pump, so guess these kids don't get a lot of opportunity to pump gas into a classic.

I think Todd was referring to his car, and that's a question that he's been asked.
