timming once again
ive been learning about timming and how it works but i dont have dynos or any fancy machines just a timming light and my 1/2 wrench. i have heard the best performance comes if you advance untill you hear 'pinging' then back it off a few degrees...is this true? also i have had my car everywhere from 6-22 btc and havent heard this 'pinging' im at 18 right now and it seems the higher i go the better pick up i get. I have read that im in the danger zone anywhere past 13 degrees is this also true? Is this pinging loud or do i need to put a screwdriver to my ear? HELP
9:1 compression and its a ford B cam... http://www.fordracingparts.com/parts...rtKeyField=899 ... third one down on the list
hey man my car seems to do good at 18* of timing your right the higher better but I all so heard the same but this time it was past 14* was the danger zone.
Yes the pinging is loud. knocking not very sure if its loud.
I know some people that run 18* all the time with no problems at all.
