License plate thread
I was at the state fair today and found a guy who has a bunch of old plates. I asked him for 68 and he walked over to a pile and pulled these right off the top. They are unused.

ive got my original black with yellow text plates for California.....im currently stripping one down by hand and am going to repaint it and make it look all nice. then switch it with the other one and do the other one up all nice.
I was in Iowa recently visiting and decided to stop in an antique shop and wanted to get a 67 Iowa plate for my truck, since its a 67 and it came from Iowa. I was pretty surprised to find a pair of consecutively numbered 67 plates. I was even more surprised when I found 2 more sets of consecutively numbered plates!
Edit: What I mean is there were 2 matched pairs of plates, consecutively numbered.

If you live in Texas you there a couple of EBAY auctions for 1966 plates that you can use as your legal plates. It will cost you $15(classic plate fee) a year in addition to your standard registration and you have to take you plates to your county tax a office to get them approved. Make sure you bring a check for the $15 because it goes to TX DOT not your county.
