panhard bars
Depends on the type of track
Depends on your skill level (and your exhaust configuration).
Road course, open track, auto-x - worth it.
Drag car - not needed
Daily Driver - whatever you like. I personally have a Watts link sitting in the garage to install on mine, and I mostly drive it on the street, take it to the drags (where I don't need it), and hope to have some open track fun with it one of these days. Panhard is a little less complicated to install than a Watts however.

Panhard rod - A necessity for a street driven car IMO. Itll help keep the rear end where it supposed to be. I wish I woulda had one put on when I got my 8.8 installed. Not 100 miles after I did a high speed maneauver and my rear end literally shifted over about 3", rubbed the inside of my LR tire on the wheel well and it blew. When I got it up on a hoist I saw that the bushings had slid over, they werent loose or anything just my rear end was over a bit. So, yeah theyre definitly worth it if youre going to do any sort of auto-x, road racing.

I put one in my '66. First time using a PHB, all my other road course worthy cars have been IRS. It's an easy install (requires welding), there is some tuning involved. Probably the single biggest change in handling you can make that allows quick adjustments. Not only does it control unwanted rear movement, it also dramatically effects body roll.
I'd suggest an adjustable unit, especially if you aren't a chassis & suspension guru.

i was looking at the one from mustang depot http://www.mustangdepot.com/OnLineCa...ion/mr-phr.htm
That's the same one I put in my car. Very nice quality, perfect fit.
IMO, that is a very good choice. If you want to see what it looks like installed I've got a shot of it on the web page in my signature.
