Could anyone tell me how much transmission fluid to put in my C4 not including the torque converter(its already full) just wanted to get a good idea and not have to tinker with it too much when i start my rebuilt engine. Thanks.

 

5-5 1/2 quarts. Put in about 4 then check it. Be sure you use Type F.

 

Itll vary depending on the year of the trans, depth of the pan etc. Ive seen some take over 12 qts.

EDIT: thats with the TC though.

 

mine is a 70 C-4 , and after the rebuild it took 10 including converter.
