Yeah... but there were a few Aluminum ones made back in the 60s, good luck finding one. Shelby was the only person I ever heard of having one.

So then if FE is IRON, then Au Train Michigan would be Gold Train right?

A "K" code Mustang would be Potassium? A GT500KR would be made of KRYPTON... A Civic Si would be made of Silicon (Pam Anderson might enjoy one) A "Y" code would be made of Yttrium. A ThunderBird SC would have SCandium in it. and CDs would be Cadmium...

I don't know about in the 60s , but today, I think there are three manufacturers of aluminum FE blocks (427), Dove, Genesis, and Robert Pond. But to answer the question, FE stands for Ford-Edsel, or Ford-Engine, depending on which side of the debate you are on

Four companies build aluminum 427 blocks: Dove, Genesis, Pond, and Shelby

Dove, Genesis, and Pond all offer relatively stock looking blocks(on the outside at least) whereas the Shelby block is geared toward performance, not looking original. Dove, Genesis, and Pond all sport the 4 bolts of the Cross-bolt main caps, but the Shelby has a 6 bolt main cap setup.
