Default Wiper arm removalove wiper arms

It should be simple. Anyone know a gracefull way to remove the wiper arms on my 69 coupe. I found the little clip at the shaft and pushed it back but arm will not come off the shaft. I'm trying very hard not to damage any paint on the cowl. Thanks

To remove the wiper arm, simply pull that little latch out, fold the wiper arm back and pull it off. Make sure that little tab is completely out (you might have to hold it out) or the wiper arm won't lift off. No tools are needed.

Thanks but I whish it was that easy. Photo looks like a late model, mine is a 1969. It has a tab that has to be pushed back with a screwdriver. But it still wont come off even with lots of jiggling and pulling. Any ideas?

Get a thick towel and fold it a time or two. Put that down next to the wiper blade, and using a wide screw driver on the towel, get under the blade round thing and pry up. Just make sure that little tab is all the way out. Yours may be corroded on.
