A codes

 

hold up, i think my car is an A code, holy shat, how did i not know this before?, i thought A code just meant they had a 289 with a 4bbl, not a GT with the hi-po 289 [&:]

 

Hello!! GTs could be A codes or K codes but just becasue it is an A code or a K code does not make it a GT. Does that make sense? A code is 4v and K code is 4v Hipo.

 

Right I know that. GT package (which included disc brakes, a handling package with stiffer springs, shock absorbers, stiffer front anti-roll bar, fast-ratio steering, and duel exhaust . Additional engine choices)

 

learn somethin new everday , my car isnt a gt though, it doesnt have disc brakes

 

The seller of your Gt is not going to play games with you and he is willing to answer any questions he can about the car you bought from him. I know i have been in contact with him!!!!

 

i wasnt insinuating that the seller sold him a fake gt, i just thought that the gt's were k codes and had 4 speeds instead of three speeds, ive learned many things from this forum and this is just one more thing to add to the list

 

I had a doubt for about a sec. Yeah the guy I bought it from was a super nice guy I am sure he would help me out with any Questions I have.

I'd just like to confirm that a 66 GT can be an A code or a K code.
They also came in 3 speed auto.
There are many differences in a GT to look for.Some quick checks on things that some don't bother changing on the fakes are the fog light switch on the left of the steering wheel (Right hand for us in Australia).
The best way to tell is lift the back seat and check to see if there are reinforcing plates welded to the floorpan for the twin exhaust brackets.Many fakes do not have this.
