I know this is probably a dumb question, but how do I remove the trunk lock?

I've already removed the trunk latch and the 15/16" nut and washer from within the locking assembly. I can't figure out how to get the lock sleeve or the actual cylinder out.

Best I remember, you just unscrew the two machine bolts, and it separates. Take a look at the pic of mine and tell me if you removed these two bolts.

Yep, I've removed both of those and then I 've removed the 15/16" nut that is under the latching mechanism.

 

all you need to do now is pull out the sleeve and it will come out.

to get the lock out of the sleave...see the pin sticking up, press down on it while turning the lock key

 

Ah, good point. Just logic.

 

I finally got it. All I had to do was push, push, push and turn the key. I guess it being in the trunk for probably 39-40 years had built up some resistance to coming out.
