tranny getting hot?

I just got my stang out of the transmission shop and took it for a spin it started overheating so i pulled over and went to a radiator shop put in a new radiator it ran fine i put my hand on the shifter and its hot whats going on here?

all shifters in these old stangs get hot its noting to worry about and has nothing to do with the temp of the trans. It may be coming from the exhust just guessing

What kind of tranny is it? The shifters, tranny hump, and firewall will all be a bit warm. Nature of these beasts. Of course, these items may make it a little less comfy in the summer, but it's kinda nice in the winter.

Yep. Exhaust pipes running the tranny tunnel. My front seatbelt anchor bolts get so hot you can't hold your finger on one.

Its a C4 tranny automatic i just had some minor work done on it cuz it used to leak and the shifter is a bit warm just curious
