I think that the body and frame is more costly to repair than the motor??? What do the rest of you guys and gals think????

I would choose the sound body hands down without question.

Definitely good body, or even a good body. If I had it to do over, I would have shelled out the extra cash for a car that needed little or no sheet metal work. On the bright side, I have become pretty good at replacing panels. I would have spent more money on a car that didn't need floors, quarters, wheelhouses, lower cowl panels, inner fender aprons, core support, etc. etc. etc. An engine is a relatively simple thing (not necessarily cheap though) to buy and build, in my opinion.

If I'm buying the car, I'd prefer a blown engine in an immaculate body.

If it's something I drive, I worry about the engine more than the appearance.

Since I usually build the engine MY way, and often drop in something larger than it had before, the engine that is in it doesnt usually matter.

If you have seen the pics of the nightmare 71, then you will understand why i would want a good body to put it in..

They cost about the same up to a certain point. You can do cheap body work or build a cheapie engine, but if it isnt done right with quality parts, you will have the same thing you started with.. a slightly polished and somewhat more expensive turd...
