Default door trims

Hi all,

I had a little issue with one of the quarter windows coming loose and had to remove the door trim to get at it.

I had the right tool and tried so hard to be gentle but the old cardboard lining just couldnt match the strength of the metal clips. In short, I trashed it!!!

Anyone bought replacement ones? Are some better than others, better fitting or better value for money?
Any clues appreciated

thanks

I tore the cardboard around probably half a dozen of the original clips, on each side, when I took the door trims out of the 72. I just flipped the cardboard / clips back where they needed to be and affixed them with duct tape, the Southern Gentleman's answer for everything. They went back on fine, don't stick out anywhere or anything like that.

I can't recommend anyone's repro trim... my originals were badly sun-faded but otherwise OK. I used some sort of vinyl prep / conditioner from NPD, and then simple spray-can vinyl dye. Worked well for me.

I got mine from Larry's out of California, but there are many other vendors out there. Might ought to get both while you are at it.

they seem pretty basic. any issues with fitting/ lining up the metal clips?
I have already "repaired" them once with a combo of duct tape braced with cut out sheets of beer can.
Unfortunately, i think they are too far gone this time
thanks for the help
cheers
