thats why he said base price....with the dealer markup, they will be going for close to the $70k price.

well look at the 03 and 04 cobras....when they first came out I think they were pushing close to 50k buying price...now you can find them around...used of course...for ~low to mid 30's. Now, with these new ones carrying the shelby name instead of svt, I think that might help them maintain value a little, but I am sure in a few years the price will drop.
One vote for drop in price. I agree. I think after the Mustang does another body change you will see a drop in price. Anyone agree/disagree?

i disagree, comming from the point of view of a family who collects old cars. having an original classic like a 1965 gt 350, owners want the new shelby, after seeing the boom in the classics in the past few years they think the same thing will happen again, like always with limited production cars. now when im 60 and there is a 2007 shelby gt500 in the family that was bought new 1 owner with all original docs etc its gunna be worth some money, because just like with classics, they arent ever going to build any more 2007 shelby gt 500s in 2059. However, i think the shelby (although outstanding performance numbers except the fact it weighs a bagillion pounds) will be a car people will modify, infact, i beleive it is MENT to be modified. With some slight modifications to stock the gt500 will be a vette killer. everyone compares the vette stock to stock with the gt500, but they arent in the same class. (until mods) I beleive the drop in price will vary depending on who originally bought the car. If a collecter b ought the car he will sell it for ATLEAST MSRP when he bought it. however if a guy who heard about the shelby, heard it was fast, wants it to be a vette killer stock, with loads of cash buys one, gets bored, doesnt see the Shelby aspect, he will sell it for less than MSRP because to him, it is just a used car.
you must also think, what a vette could do when modified. All i have to say is this.... A vette has a tad more power then a Shelby.... and Guess what??? NO SUPERCHARGER, and it weights about 700 lbs less. Throw a supercharger on a vette, and i dont care what you do to a shelby. They are going to make a vette called blue devil, much like the one im talking about.
